On January 21, Larissa McDonough Schmidt ’07, received the Florida Podiatric Medical Association “Young Practitioner of the Year Award” during the Presidential Gala that takes place at the annual conference each January (SAM – Science & Management Symposium).
Schmidt served as the FPMA Young Practitioner Representative in 2016 and attended FPMA Board meetings, providing information about FPMA Young Practitioner activities that took place throughout the year. The “Young Practitioner of the Year” award is presented by the outgoing President of FPMA. She received this honor for her work with the Association, her surgical practice in Orlando and work with the citizens of Florida. Schmidt studied Biology on a pre-med track and played basketball throughout her four years at Rollins. She will be admitted to the Rollins College Sports Hall of Fame this March.
