Roe featured in London-based Floorr magazine

Associate Professor of Art Dawn Roe was recently featured in the London-based publication, Floorr magazine.

Roe works with still photographs and digital video in both singular and combined forms. Over the past 10 years, Roe’s projects have become increasingly concerned with exploring the particularities of photo-based practice as a means of poetically and critically engaging with systems of representation through perceptual studies of sites and locations that are sought out, constructed, or simply happened upon.

Roe talks with the South London-based publication about how she got her start in art, the influence of Portland, Oregon, in her development as an artist, why the earth and landscapes are such prominent figures in her work, and what’s next in the pipeline, which includes a gallery exhibition in Asheville, North Carolina.
