Andrea Massey-Farrell ’98 was recently honored by Orlando Magazine as one of the publication’s 2020 Women of the Year. Massey-Farrell—who majored in communication at Rollins’ Hamilton Holt School—serves as president of the Harvey and Carol Massey Foundation, a nonprofit that has awarded more than $5 million in charitable contributions and another $90,000 in in-kind services in 2019 alone. The organization is the charitable arm of Massey Services, a pest-control company founded by Massey-Farrell’s parents, Harvey and Carol Massey.
Speaking to the publication, Massey-Farrell said, “One of our company’s guiding philosophies is ‘We believe in being a contributing member to our community and industry.’ I’m honored to be able to carry out that mission on behalf of our team members.”
Philanthropy is a way of life for the Massey family. In addition to her duties with the foundation, Massey-Farrell has served on the board of advisors for the Hamilton Holt School since 2007. She is president of the Orlando Shakes board and also serves on the boards of Nemours Children’s Health System of Florida, the Central Florida YMCA Family Center, Mead Botanical Garden, and One Orlando Alliance.
