Knight Receives Inaugural R-Wellness Champion Award

Karla Knight received the inaugural R-Wellness Champion Award at the Annual Staff Awards Celebration on Friday, May 27.

The R-Wellness Champion Award will be presented annually to recognize a Rollins faculty or staff member for being a role model in the area of wellness and serving as an ambassador for the R-Wellness Committee’s mission to create and promote a healthy campus community in which we live, learn, teach, work, or visit.

Knight, the academic administration coordinator for the Dean of the Faculty, is characterized by her peers as a wellness role model. She has embraced the R-Wellness initiative to walk every day, and she recently led a group of Couch to 5K participants twice a week on walks around campus. She uses SunRail to commute to and from Rollins each day and has documented her wellness journey on social media using humor and honesty which has inspired others to get moving. Additionally, her nominators noted that she maintains a positive attitude and always makes time for people.

Knight received a trophy and $150 from the R-Wellness Committee.
