Jimenez Receives 2016 Presidential Award for Diversity and Inclusion

Oriana Jimenez ’07MHR ’10MBA, Rollins College’s Title IX coordinator, received the 2016 Presidential Award for Diversity and Inclusion during the Annual Staff Awards Celebration on Friday, May 27.

The award was established in 2010 as a means of recognizing and honoring students, faculty, and staff for their efforts aimed at promoting diversity awareness, representation, and inclusion within the Rollins workplace and student community.

In a decade of service at Rollins, Jimenez has demonstrated her commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice at Rollins. Staff nominators described her as being respected and admired by the Rollins community, whether they are “students who feel supported by her in times of marginalization or staff and faculty who she has shared her infinite wisdom and insights with and advocated for.”

Jimenez’s efforts can be directly tied to recruitment and retention of diverse faculty and staff, diversity research programs, and the elevation of the College’s commitment to creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and respectful community for all.
