Graduate Studies in Counseling Program to Receive Inaugural Award

Counselors for Social Justice, a division of the American Counseling Association (ACA), will recognize Rollins’ Graduate Studies in Counseling Program with its inaugural Outstanding Counseling Program/Agency Award. The program will be recognized at the 2017 ACA Conference & Expo in San Francisco on March 17.

“We are very excited to receive this inaugural award because we have infused the integration of social justice work in the practice of clinical mental health counseling across our curriculum,” program chair Alicia Homrich said in an email.

According to Homrich, Rollins is the only graduate counseling program in the country that requires students to complete a 100-hour pre-practicum experience in social justice and advocacy work.
