Mae Fitchett, associate director of Rollins’ Student & Family Care office, has received the 2020 Presidential Award for Diversity and Inclusion.
The Presidential Award for Diversity and Inclusion was established in 2010 as a means of recognizing and honoring students, faculty, and staff whose contributions and actions over time best exemplify the principles and ideals of diversity and inclusion.
Fitchett advances diversity and inclusion in the office and throughout campus. By way of the caring and thoughtful way she does her work, she forges special bonds with underrepresented students and is able to help them overcome barriers. She consistently connects students with various mentors and offices on campus to ensure they have the most meaningful experiences at Rollins.
“Mae is a source of strength for all staff and faculty, and particularly those from underrepresented identities,” remarks one committee member.
