Jennifer Addleman, Rollins’ director of benefits and well-being and president of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) Florida Chapter, has been selected to receive CUPA-HR’s first-ever national Chapter Excellence Award.
In March, Addleman and her Florida chapter colleagues were presented with the Southern Region Chapter Excellence Award, which recognizes an association chapter that is making a significant impact through its commitment to CUPA-HR and the higher-ed HR community. Of the four regional excellence award recipients, the Florida Chapter was selected by the CUPA-HR board of directors to receive the national designation.
CUPA-HR provides leadership on higher-education workplace issues by monitoring trends, conducting research, and promoting strategic discussions among colleges and universities. Many of Rollins’ HR team members have served in leadership roles at CUPA-HR over the years, including Matt Hawks, associate vice president of human resources and risk management, and David Zajchowski, director of talent management.
Addleman has been in a leadership position in the Florida Chapter since 2017. Under her guidance, the innovative board has updated the chapter bylaws, enhanced the website, created a new conference logo, developed policies and procedures, and organized successful conferences and meetings across the state. The Florida Chapter leadership has also taken an active role in raising awareness about public policy efforts, helping educate higher-ed professionals about proposed state legislation as well as voicing the higher-ed perspective to state legislators.
