Rollins Professor Wenxian Zhang, head of archives and special collections at Olin Library, recently helped organize the 11th China Goes Global Conference, which was held at Norway’s University of Agder on June 15–17.
Zhang serves on the board of directors of the China Globalization Association, which organizes the annual conference. He is also the organization’s treasurer.
Zhang chaired the session on China’s One Belt, One Road initiative, as well as a book presentation panel by international scholars at the conference.
Rollins Associate Professor of Business Emmanuel Kodzi presented his recent research, “Dragons in Lion Territory: China’s Business Relations with Africa,” at the conference.
More than 100 scholars, businesspeople, and government officials attended the academic gathering in Kristiansand, Norway. The first China Goes Global Conference was held at Rollins in 2006, and the 12th conference will take place at the East China Normal University in Shanghai, China.
