Wenxian Zhang, Olin librarian and Asian studies professor, recently received an international grant from the Eurasia Foundation for new course development. The funding will enable Rollins to offer a new course in fall 2021 titled The Dynamics of the Asian Community in the 21st Century: An Interdisciplinary Study on the Past, Present, and Future of Asia.
This course is designed for Rollins students to gain a broad understanding of Asian dynamics through a series of international seminars. Already approved for both the College of Liberal Arts and the Hamilton Holt School, the class will provide students an opportunity to study one of the most important regions in the world and to examine one of the most pressing issues of our time: the rise of Asia in the 21st century.
Rollins is one of a handful of academic institutions to receive a grant from the Tokyo-based Eurasia Foundation, whose mission is to further the understanding of culture related to the Eurasian continent.
