Warnecke Elected President of the Association for Institutional Thought

Associate Professor of Social Entrepreneurship and Business Tonia Warnecke was recently elected President of the Association for Institutional Thought (AFIT).

AFIT is an organization that dates back to 1979 and is devoted to the theory of institutionalism. Members of the organization examine the philosophical, psychological, and practical aspects of the relationship between society and institutions and how they impact economic behaviors and outcomes.

Warnecke recently concluded a term as AFIT’s vice president, for which she organized the 37th Annual Meeting that took place in Reno, Nevada, in April 2016. The theme of the conference was Social Innovation & Social Impact: From Institutional Theory to Policy and Practice.
