Social entrepreneurship professor Tonia Warnecke was recently elected to a term on the Executive Council of the Western Social Science Association (WSSA), an organization that advances scholarship and service across social science disciplines. Warnecke has been involved in the WSSA since 2007, previously serving as president of the Association for Institutional Thought, one of the WSSA’s associate organizations. The term begins in April 2020 and concludes in April 2023.
The Executive Council is responsible for conducting the business of the WSSA, addressing financial matters and making recommendations for issues to be voted on by the broader WSSA membership. The Western Social Science Association advances scholarship, teaching, service, and professional exchange across the social science disciplines. The association’s mission is to foster professional study, to advance research, and to promote the teaching of the social sciences, as well as to promote social justice, equitable treatment, and the application of due process for all peoples.
