Rollins College Digital Archivist Rachel Walton was recently named this year's recipient of the Society of American Archivist Theodore Calvin Pease Award. This national award recognizes superior writing achievements by young professionals who are recent graduates of archival studies programs. Entries are judged on innovation, scholarliness, pertinence, and clarity.
Walton’s paper, “Looking for Answers: A Usability Study of Online Finding Aid Navigation,” focuses on effective, efficient, and user-valued web navigation components used by prominent academic archives in an effort to provide a practical model for the wider profession. In addition to a cash prize, Walton's paper will appear as a peer-reviewed article in the Spring/Summer 2017 Issue of The American Archivist.
