On May 10, Provost Carol Bresnahan presented Claire Strom, Rapetti-Trunzo Professor of History, with the Cornell Distinguished Service Award. The award was presented at the Rollins College commencement ceremony.
“Today’s recipient epitomizes services to the College,” Bresnahan said. “She has chaired the Academic Affairs Committee, the social science division, and the Professional Standards Committee. She is also faculty advisor to X-Club and is the director of general education. She has served as a co-chair of the Diversity Advisory Council, and president of the Rollins chapter of the American Association of University Professors.”
The honor of the Cornell Distinguished Service Award is bestowed annually when appropriate. It recognizes Rollins faculty who have distinguished themselves and the College through outstanding service. The awardee receives a $10,000 cash stipend that can be used for expenses related to the recipient’s work at the recipient’s discretion.
