Strom gives lecture at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art

History professor Claire Strom recently gave an invited lecture to docents and members of the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art. The Winter Park museum holds the world’s most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany as well as American art pottery, late 19th- and early 20th-century American painting, graphics, and decorative art.

Her talk, entitled “Excess or Deprivation: Farming in the Gilded Age,” explored the political and economic objectives of the Farmers’ Alliance and the People’s Party, tracking them through to the modern day.
