Their project, “Before #MeToo: How Women Historically Navigated Higher Education at the ACS Schools,” will involve Rollins College, Davidson College, Centre College, Centenary College, and the University of Richmond. It will examine the lived historical experiences of women on each of the aforementioned campuses. College archivists and historians will work together to embed archival research into at least one history course in 2020-21.
At Rollins, Walton and Strom will collaborate in two courses in 2020-21, a researching class in the fall and the history capstone in the spring. Both classes will include an archival project where the students conduct original research in the archives to uncover the experiences of women on campus throughout Rollins’ history.
