Strom and Nichter receive ACS anti-racism training grant

Sociology professor Matt Nichter and history professor Claire Strom are part of a multi-campus team—including Furman University, Rhodes College, Sewanee University, Birmingham-Southern College, and Rollins—that have been awarded an anti-racism grant by Associated Colleges of the South consortium (ACS).

This grant will allow the participating colleges and universities to hire experts to train campus-based teams on anti-racist policies and initiatives within higher education. These team members will in turn disseminate the information across their own campuses. This grant is just part of an array of racial justice initiatives at Rollins College, including curricular design, student-learning groups, and a growing reflection on the College's racial past.
