Environmental studies professor Bruce Stephenson was recently honored with the John Nolan Medal for contributions to urbanism in Florida by the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU). The award honors those who have made significant contributions to urban growth and development in Florida.
The award is named after visionary landscape architect John Nolen. It’s fitting that Stephenson has been honored by CNU, as he authored a book—John Nolen: Landscape Architect and City Planner—which earned the 2016 JB Jackson Book Award.
Outside of his work at Rollins and as an author, Stephenson serves as a trustee for the Winter Park Land Trust and on the Orlando Sustainability Task Force.
