Each holiday season, Walt Disney World Resort hosts a month-long performance of its annual “Candlelight Processional.” Throughout the month of December, a rotating cast of celebrity narrators perform the story of Christmas accompanied by a choir and 50-piece orchestra conducted by Rollins music professor John Sinclair. This year’s celebrity guests include Ming-na We, Whoopi Goldberg, Gary Sinise, Geena Davis, and more.
The tradition debuted at the Magic Kingdom in 1971 and moved to Epcot in 1994, the same year Sinclair began conducting the event. The choir is made up of local high school students, many of whom go on to attend Rollins.
Disney recently live-streamed a performance of the “Candlelight Processional” featuring Neil Patrick Harris as narrator.
“This particular performance was actually my 916th performance of the ‘Candlelight Processional,’ says Sinclair. “Neil Patrick Harris is truly a wonderful person, and I really enjoy working with him.”
The event runs through December 30 at Epcot’s World Showcase.
