Kline and Cuevas publish article on Latinx activism after Pulse shooting

Anthropology professor Nolan Kline and Christopher Cuevas ’16, executive director at QLatinx, recently published an article titled, “Resisting Identity Erasure after Pulse: Intersectional LGBTQ+ Lantix Activism in Orlando, FL.” The article appeared in the Chiricu Journal, a peer-reviewed humanities journal launched by the Indiana University Press.

The article discusses LGBTQ+ Latinx activism in Orlando after the Pulse shooting, which disproportionally affected the LGBTQ+ Latinx population in Central Florida. Kline and Cuevas assert that the shooting revealed a dearth of social services specifically for these populations with overlapping LGBTQ+ and Latinx identities.
