International relations and political science professor Mike Gunter will present at the 30th annual Southern Festival of Books: A Celebration of the Written Word October 12-14. Humanities Tennessee is hosting the event, which will take place at the Nashville Public Library and War Memorial Plaza in downtown Nashville.
Gunter will be speaking on a panel, “Go Before It’s Gone: Weighing the Impact of Ecological Tourism,” with author and journalist Earl Swift on important issues of climate change and the experiences chronicled in Gunter’s recent book, Tales of an Ecotourist.
Each year the Southern Festival of Books brings approximately 200 of the nation’s and region’s most prominent authors to Nashville. Among this year’s top-tier talent is Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Pulitzer Prize winner Rick Bragg.
