Gunter selected to participate in Washington Post workshop

Political science professor Mike Gunter has been selected to participate in a training workshop run by The Washington Post and The Monkey Cage that focuses on global health, hunger, and poverty.

The Monkey Cage is an independent site currently published at The Washington Post whose mission is to connect political scientists and the political conversation by creating a compelling forum, developing publicly focused scholars, and building an informed audience.

The purpose of the workshop—which takes place in late April in San Diego—is to create a cohort of scholars that translates findings from their research into pieces accessible to a general audience. The Monkey Cage will offer mentoring support for at least six months following the workshop and devote resources to publicizing participants’ pieces within the relevant communities of journalists, practitioners, and policymakers.
