Political science professor Mike Gunter recently published an article on climate change and travel in The Washington Post.
Appearing in the esteemed political science blog The Monkey Cage, the article encourages us to pursue summer vacation plans that incorporate a reconsideration of climate change. From lobsters to glaciers, Gunter makes the case for a firsthand look at three U.S. destinations before they change forever.
“When it comes to climate change, conflation of fact and fiction muddy our national discourse,” says Gunter. “More Americans than ever understand the threats our changing climate presents, even as President Trump continues to cast doubt on its science. That said, these same Americans remain unwilling to invest in climate change mitigation, according to a poll earlier this year by the Associated Press and the University of Chicago.”
