Greenberg publishes book chapter in new anthology

Yudit K. Greenberg, George and Harriet Cornell Endowed Professor of Religion, recently published a chapter titled “Integrating the Natural, the Divine and the Erotic in the Gita Govinda and Shir Ha-Shirim,” in which she compares the female protagonist in these sacred Hindu and biblical texts.

Her chapter is included in a new anthology titled Finding Radha: The Quest for Love, edited by Namita Gokhale and Malashri Lal and published by Penguin. The anthology is an examination of the mysterious Radha, the epitome of love, who defies all conventional codes yet transcends social prohibitions through the power of the spiritual and the sensual, the sacred and the erotic.

Finding Radha is the first of its kind: a collection of poetry, prose, and translation that enters the historical as well as the artistic dimensions of the eternal romance of Radha and Krishna.
