Archard Composes Duet for Tanglewood

On June 24, original music composition by Rollins artist-in-residence Chuck Archard was performed by musicians at Tanglewood, the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s celebrated summer festival home.

Archard’s work was specially commissioned for a world premiere by Rollins alum Mike Roylance ’98, who serves as principle tuba player for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and cellist Mihail Jojatu. The composition is a duet for tuba and cello and uses elements of Argentinian Tango, Brazilian Choro and Cuban Son/Montuno styles.
