This month, Rollins College was named among Central Florida’s businesses that have ‘wow’ wellness programs by the Orlando Business Journal. The publication named and ranked 22 area companies that promote healthy lifestyles for their employees. Rollins earned the No. 1 spot of large employers (500–1,499 employees).
R-Wellness, Rollins College’s employee wellness program, was founded in 2005 and has a participation rate of 40 percent. Among the College’s notable initiatives are monthly on-site chair massages, annual physical screenings, and participation in the Orlando International Dragon Boat Festival. Employees have access to the College’s urban garden and some claimed a free pair of Nike sneakers by participating in National Walking Day.
