On October 24, members of the Rollins community took part in the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida’s Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk at Lake Eola Park. Members of the women’s basketball team and the Child Development and Student Research Center participated in the event as part of a Rollins Find Your Anchor event for first-year students.

October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month and the event provided a public platform for advocacy. The mile-long walk around Lake Eola in downtown Orlando included music, games, and information about community resources.
