Winter Park Institute Announces 2018–19 Season

The Rollins College speaker series opens in September with Maggie Doyne, CNN’s 2015 Hero of the Year, and closes in April with M. Sanjayan, CEO and senior scientist of Conservation International.

The Winter Park Institute (WPI) at Rollins College, a center for intellectual engagement that brings world-renowned speakers to Central Florida, recently announced the schedule for its 11th season. Speakers include philanthropist Maggie Doyne, philosopher Martha C. Nussbaum, filmmaker Sean Baker, poet Billy Collins, and conservation scientist M. Sanjayan.

Each year, WPI brings preeminent scholars, artists, entrepreneurs, entertainers, writers, and world-renowned speakers to Rollins students, faculty members, and the broader community. Guests of the speaker series have won Academy Awards, Tony Awards, Emmy Awards, Pulitzer Prizes, Presidential Medals of Freedom, and a Nobel Peace Prize, among many other distinguished honors.

“Winter Park Institute brings global innovators and leaders to our doorstep to challenge our thinking and open us to possibility,” says WPI Executive Director Gail Sinclair. “The Rollins community and our Central Florida neighbors become the benefactors of their vision and calls to action.”

Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the Rollins College Box Office at 407-646-2145. For a limited time, a season pass for all five programs will be offered. After August 7, tickets for individual programs will be available.
