The department of music will host Bringing Hope One Song at a Time: A Benefit for Puerto Rico featuring Christian Cuevas on Friday, November 17, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. at the Knowles Chapel.
Cuevas gained international acclaim on Season 11 of The Voice and is now giving back in a concert benefiting Puerto Rico and its recovery from the devastating effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Cuevas, a former Rollins music student, will perform for one night only, and all proceeds will be donated to the Central Florida Foundation’s Together for Puerto Rico: A Hurricane Recovery Fund to help the people of Puerto Rico.
“I have loved ones and family in Puerto Rico,” says Cuevas. “My success has given me a great desire to give back not only monetarily, but through bringing hope one song at a time.”
Cuevas will perform original songs and his versions of beloved tracks by artists who inspire him, preceded by a Rollins acoustic ensemble.
Tickets to this special, one-night performance are available through the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, which has generously donated its ticketing resources.
General admission tickets are $20, with all proceeds benefiting Together for Puerto Rico: A Hurricane Recovery Fund. Student and faculty/staff tickets are $10. Doors will open at 7 p.m.; Box Office and Will Call will open at 6:30 p.m. for ticket sales. Parking for the event is available at SunTrust Parking Garage for $5.
