This past year’s winter field studies were scattered across the world but all linked by a common objective: embracing and learning from difference to become a global leader in our ever-evolving world.

As Mark Twain said, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of people and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”

Each of the following four winter field studies embodies this spirit, encouraging students to embrace feeling uncomfortable and the potential that it holds.
