Teixeira to Represent Brazil in World Amateurs

Clara Teixeira ’15 will officially represent the Brazilian team in the 2014 World Amateur Team Championships.

Rollins College senior Clara Teixeira ’15 will officially represent the Brazilian team in the 2014 World Amateur Team Championships, to be held in Karuisawa, Japan from August 28 through September 5, it was officially announced on Monday.

Teixeira posted stroke average of 77.68 as a junior, shooting a season low 73 twice, first at the “Mo”Morial and then again at the Guy Harvey Invitational. As a sophomore, the Rio de Janeiro native finished in the top-20 in five of seven tournaments, shooting a career low 72 at the Rollins hosted Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational en route to being named honorable mention WGCA All-American.

Teixeira has been named an Academic All-American three times as well as landed on the Sunshine State Commissioner’s Honor Roll each of her three seasons.
