Stephanie Murphy Elected to U.S. House

Rollins lecturer of business wins the U.S. House District 7 race.

(Photo by Scott Cook) (Photo by Scott Cook) On Tuesday, it was announced that Rollins business lecturer Stephanie Murphy was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida’s House District 7, defeating longtime congressman John Mica. District 7 includes Seminole County and northern Orange County.

Murphy, who received endorsements from President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, is an investment executive and former national security specialist. Her victory marks the first time a Vietnamese-American woman has been elected to congress.
