Rollins College announced the appointment of Mamta Accapadi as the College’s new vice president for student affairs.
Since March 2009, Accapadi has served as the dean of student life at Oregon State University, where she is a member of the Student Affairs Leadership Team and works closely with academic partners to strengthen student retention and engagement. Previously, she served as the assistant director of the Multicultural Information Center at the University of Texas at Austin. Accapadi received her PhD in higher education administration from the University of Texas at Austin, with a concentration on Asian American identity and social justice education. She also holds a M.Ed. in higher education administration and BA in microbiology, both from the University of Texas at Austin.
“I am thrilled to join such a student-centric institution as Rollins,” said Accapadi. “To me, student affairs is about co-creating a learning environment where students come to transform their imagined hopes into lived realities. This environment is most rich when we partner with academic affairs, the community at large, and our students.”
Accapadi will join Rollins in early August.
