Online Schools Florida named Rollins Professor Gabriel Barreneche to a list of the top 20 Latin and Hispanic professors in Florida.
Associate Professor of Spanish Gabriel Barreneche has been recognized as one of the top 20 Latin and Hispanic professors in Florida by Online Schools Florida.
Online Schools Florida, an all-digital alternative learning platform, recently identified 20 Latin and Hispanic professors in Florida who made a “more-than-noticeable difference in 2012.”
According to the Pew Research Hispanic Center, the largest minority group on American college campuses is made up of Latin and Hispanic students. The state of Florida especially has a collection of vibrant Latin and Hispanic students and professors, the latter educating, mentoring, and contributing to the academic record.
The goal of the top professors list is to highlight post-secondary educators who have been awarded recently for excellence in the classroom, on campus, and/or in the community.
A recipient of the Arthur Vining Davis Fellowship at Rollins, Barreneche achieved recognition for his “outstanding teaching and advising, scholarly work and publications, and completions of significant research projects.”
Barreneche currently serves as director of the Living Learning Community Program at Rollins and lives in Ward Hall as faculty-in-residence.
